perksofbeingapotterfan: “Be a bit gentle”  #i’ve missed this #so much #hermione shows she cares by sharing her knowledge. in this instance she isn’t the overbearing knowitall everyone assumes she is. #she smiles and teaches in a nurturing way #she’s enthusiastic about sharing a part of herself #and ron. oh ron… #all i need to say is just look at his face. all thoughts are gone from his head except the one he finally found. #it took him so long to realize that he loved her. and now that he’s conscious of that her can’t force himself to unsee all of the beauty … #not just because she’s pretty. but because her eyes light up when she does something she loves. #all of the beauty inside and out. and has been in front of him this whole time.

“Tell me one last thing,” said Harry, “Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?”Dumbledore beamed at him, and his voice sounded loud and strong in Harry’s ears even though the bright mist was descending again, obscuring his figure.“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?”

He’s shut down compassion — how else would you become a Death Eater? So he suppresses virtually all of the good side of himself. But then he’s playing with the big boys, as the phrase has it, and suddenly, having talked the talk he’s asked to walk it for the first time and it is absolutely terrifying. And I think that that is an accurate depiction of how some people fall into that kind of way of life and they realise what they’re in for. I felt sorry for Draco. Well, I’ve always known this was coming for Draco, obviously, however nasty he was. — J.K. Rowling

wandsandpatronuses: I saw this reblogged on fuckyeahsnape.tumblr.com, and wanted to make a gif out of it: “The reason Snape maybe hated the Golden Trio so much was because together they made Lily. Harry had her eyes, Ron had her hair, and Hermione was a smart muggleborn.”

“I must save Luna. I cannot lose Luna.”

lehastings: favourite spells (no specific order) ― Expecto Patronum  Conjures a Patronus, a silvery phantom shape, usually that of an animal, which is the embodiment of the positive thoughts of the caster. A Patronus will drive away Dementors.

We’ve got one thing that Voldemort doesn’t have. Something worth fighting for.

thatsmygirlfriendyounumptiies: he was so fucking hermione in that dream

gaysubtexts: #i imagine they would fall together because after the war everyone is walking on eggshells and pretending like it’s okay, like they can make things go back to normal. but luna doesn’t feel any obligation to do that, she knows that things will never be the same and she isn’t afraid of that. and she’s a good listener and will let harry tell her about the nights when he really thought that the war would never end and it would be his fault because he makes everything his fault, and she would console him and it would mean something because luna never lies and he knows that. they would go on a lot of walks outside because luna wants to compensate for all those months she was locked in a cellar. and then one day she decides she wants to kiss him and so she asks if that’s okay, and he says it is, and so she does. and together they learn how to go on. #AND THEN SHE NEVER LETS HIM NAME THEIR CHILD ALBUS SEVERUS THE END :)

fuckyeahexpectopatronum: cydonia: #let me tell you how much i admire these motherly figures. perhaps it must be because the author herself is a mother, but then again, the way she portrayed the role of a mother in the books was so beautiful and touching, it makes us all want to cry. #think about narcissa who LIED AT THE DARK LORD’S FACE just to find out if her son is alive. and she wasn’t even sure is harry was telling her the truth, but she believed him and she believed him because that was what she wanted: for her son to be safe. and do you remember when she tried to free her son from that task voldemort gave him? she swore that she would do ANYTHING, ANYTHING for her son not to fulfill that task and she doesn’t even care if she’d doing the right thing or not. #think about lily, who sacrificed HER LIFE for the sake of her son. lily who, even at the last moments of her life, thought of protecting her son. lily who, loved her son so much that her love protected him even after she passed on. #and of course, think about molly, who raised SEVEN CHILDREN and was able to raise them well, despite their financial difficulties. molly who fought by her children’s side, molly who faced voldemort’s best lieutenant to defend her only daughter. molly who lost a son to the war. molly who loved harry and hermione like her own. #THESE BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING MOTHERS. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW OVERWHELMING THEIR LOVE IS TO THEIR CHILDREN AND TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT THEIR OWN.

fuckyeahexpectopatronum: SO BADASS.

needlebug: Hogwarts was the first and best home he had known. He and Voldemort and Snape, the abandoned boys, had all found home here…~ Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (Chapter 34: The Forest Again)  “Whether you come back by film or by page, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”~ J.K. Rowling

The hand on her head was dirty but warm, and she could feel his lips on her forehead. She could feel the grasp on his shirt tighten as they both heard the slither of the large snake fluttering down the stairs in front of them. “Close your eyes, Hermione,” Ron commanded softly. “Please.” There was no anger or edginess to his words, only sorrow and despair. She looked up at his dirty freckled face and could see tears falling from the end of his hooked nose. Gently, as if this would be the last thing she would do, she reached the pad of her fingertips up to wipe them. “I’m scared,” she admitted softly. And she was. She was scared that they would both die without the slightest chance of a future. “I am, too,” he whispered in her ear, hugging her even tighter. “I am, too.” She did as Ron had asked, closing her eyes and pushing herself even more into Ron’s body. With the final noise of the snake just a few feet away, she felt the small peck of Ron’s lips on her forehead. Then they waited. #excuse me whilst i burst into flames

Ron and Hermione pelted along… and the fire pursued them. As they turned a corner the flames chased them as though they were alive, sentient, intent upon killing them.
